Candidate Info : The Grounds
Although Saint Peter’s is a suburban parish church, its grounds are nonetheless quite extensive, with both expansive open spaces and well established plantings.
There are three main parts to the grounds.
- The Churchyard (pictured above), which is bounded by The Church, the hall and the vicarage, is an ideal area for both "business" and family gatherings. Access through the porch to the hall makes for pleasant and convenient indoor-outdoor parties when (as is usual) the weather permits.
- The Study Garden. This grassy area under mature trees is an ideal outlook from The Vicar’s Study, and also suitable for wedding parties or as a place for older children to entertain themselves in.
- The Private Garden is secure and secluded behind sound fencing and gates. It includes a sun deck and easy access to the vicarage kitchen and is just the spot for younger children to play in safely and for a keen gardener to grow the odd vege.

The Private (or Kitchen) Garden
The deck overlooks the Private Garden....
....as can be seen in the shot below of it in the making. The fence separating this area from the study Garden (where the photographer is standing) was removed for the duration of the building project, but is now all back in place as you can see in the picture above.
